About the HWBA The Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association (HWBA) was formed to bring together the merchants and professionals who are conducting business in, or have a practice in, the villages of Hewlett and Woodmere (including the areas of North Woodmere served by School District 14). This includes Zip Codes 11598, 11557, and parts of 11581. The HWBA came about as a merger of the Hewlett Business Association, led by Joseph Gelb and the Woodmere Merchants Association, led by John Santopolo in 2011. Our primary goal is to increase the awareness of our neighbors, friends and residents from adjoining communities as to the merchandise, activities and services offered in the two villages. These steps could include, but are limited to, supporting local school programs, upgrading and maintaining the main shopping areas, helping agencies locate in the two villages that provide programs for the benefit of the two villages. The HWBA has plans to increase Internet marketing and business through the uses of our web sites (this site and the upcoming ShopHewlettWoodmere.com), Internet marketing and social media interactions.
